Angry, Young and Poor is leaving Lancaster city
After 31 years in the city, the punk shop is heading downriver. Angry, Young and Poor's last day at 356 W. Orange St. is Aug. 15, and it plans to reopen in September at 141 Locust St. in Columbia, the space The Common Wheel used to occupy. The store opened in 1995 on North Prince Street selling cassettes, T-shirts, and buttons, moved to Charlotte and Orange in 2004, and grew into a retail floor plus warehouse stocking leather jackets, vinyl, patches, shoes, and studded everything. Owners Jeff and Andrea Anderson, who founded it with John and Beth Haralam Shuba, sold the Orange Street building back in September 2024.
The new spot lands on the same block as the Hampton Inn going into the old Chip Factory this fall. You have until Aug. 15 to shop it on Orange Street.

Agave Azul is taking over the old Isaac's in Ephrata
Agave Azul Mexican Grill is slated to open mid-September at 120 N. Reading Road, filling the back-corner spot in Cloister Shopping Center that Isaac's vacated last November. Owners Jennifer Palacios, Alan Lamarca, and Abiel Chavez also run Rey Azteca Mexican Grill in Palmyra, and the Ephrata menu will mirror it: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas, salads, and vegetarian options. They're pursuing a liquor license for the new location.
Margaritas pending.
