Lititz is one of the hottest ZIP codes in America
The Digest
Lititz is one of the hottest ZIP codes in America
Realtor.com ranked the 17543 ZIP code the country's seventh "hottest" for real estate in the first half of the year. Listings covering Lititz, most of Warwick and Elizabeth townships, and slices of five neighboring townships drew nearly four times as many views as the national average and spent a median of just 28 days on the market. The median listing price: $598,000. Realtor.com only counts one ZIP per metro area, and notes the top-ranked codes tend to sit 10 to 20 miles outside a city center with larger, older homes. "It's been thrilling to watch Lititz garner attention year after year," said Lancaster County Association of Realtors President Christina Diehl, a Lititz native.
If you own in 17543, congratulations. If you're house-hunting there, godspeed.

Skip's Chicken has a real restaurant now
The food truck known for its fried chicken sandwiches has opened a brick-and-mortar home at 11 W. Main St. in Strasburg, in the building behind Strasburg Creamery that once housed Allegro Winery. One side handles takeout; the other is a cafe seating about 30, plus a patio shared with the creamery. The menu covers fried and grilled chicken sandwiches, wings, fries, and salads. Daniel "Skip" Stoltzfus and his wife, Kathryn, started Skip's as a food truck in 2021 with their friend Marcus Stoltzfus. Hours to start: 4 to 9 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, with plans to expand.
Chicken sandwich, then ice cream next door. Strasburg gets it.
