An Ephrata taproom closes and Giant's app stays dark
The Digest
Pour Man's is leaving downtown Ephrata
Pour Man's Brewing Co. will close its downtown Ephrata taproom at the end of December. The taproom opened in 2023 at 24 E. Main St., in the circa-1912 former Sprecher's Hardware building with the old advertising mural that's a downtown landmark. Pour Man's owners bought St. Boniface, including its production space and taproom at 1701 W. Main St., in 2024, and both brands will now pour there under one new name, Ephrata Beer Company. "It makes sense for us to consolidate both locations with them being in such close proximity," the brewery wrote on Facebook.
That gives you about 11 weeks to get one more pint under the mural.

Giant's app is down, but the stores are open
Giant's website and app were still down Tuesday after a cyberattack on its parent company, Ahold Delhaize, on Monday. The Netherlands-based company, which also owns Food Lion, Stop & Shop and Hannaford, took its sites offline as a precaution and says it is starting a "controlled relaunch" of some systems, with no timeline yet for Giant's site or app. It says it has no evidence so far that customer or employee data was taken. Unfilled orders placed through giantfoodstores.com or the app will be refunded, and delivery orders can go through Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats for now.
All 12 Giant stores in Lancaster County, plus their pharmacies and gas stations, are open regular hours. The paper list on the fridge is back in business.
