Is HBO's "Task" filming in Manor Township?

Film crews have set up near New Covenant Christian Church at 253 Charlestown Road in Washington Boro, and a letter that landed on a Manor Township door this week spells out why: season two of "Task," the HBO drama starring Mark Ruffalo, is filming in Lancaster. The letter warned of intermittent traffic control on Blue Rock Road between Donerville Road and Old Blue Rock Road overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Manor Township's police chief confirmed there "is a production happening" without giving details, and the show's location manager told LNP "if there was a letter, I'm sure it's real." The show reportedly landed a $49.8 million state film tax credit, Pennsylvania's largest ever for a single show, after filming season one around Philadelphia.

One Millersville resident says a security guard at the site described the season two plot as "good guys against the cartel." His reply: "the corn cartel?" We would absolutely watch that.

Crowded Kitchen's last market day is Saturday

Crowded Kitchen works its final day at Lancaster Central Market this Saturday, July 25. The soup, stock, and broth makers at Stand 5announced the goodbye on Instagram ("One last soup for everyone!") and are asking regulars to bring back their empty jars by Saturday. The market runs 6 AM to 3 PM Saturday, which leaves a full day to grab one more quart and say a proper farewell. The good news tucked inside the goodbye: the Crowded Kitchen crew is opening a new venture, The Pearl Cafe at 420 Pearl Street, this September.

Crowded Kitchen is a friend of the newsletter, and we're going to miss having them a stroll away. Stop by Stand 5 tomorrow and send them off right.
