The Costco food court is back

The wait is over. The food court at the Lancaster Costco (1875 Hempstead Road) is expected to reopen today, according to the store's announcement. It closed back in early April for a remodel, and shoppers have spent the summer walking past a construction wall where the pizza counter used to be. The new setup comes with fresh seating and, per the store, two new menu items: chicken tenders and a new sundae.

Regulars have noticed the warehouse was weirdly pleasant without the food court crowd. Easy parking, short lines, in and out in under an hour. Enjoy the memory. It's hot dog season again.

ICYMI: Lancaster Kidpreneur Day

In case you missed it, or if you're one of our new subscribers (welcome, by the way), we're cooking up Lancaster Kidpreneur Day for late September or early October. It's a one-day event where kids run a table selling something they've made or produced themselves. There will be judges. There will be awards.

Two things we still need from you:

1. Venue recommendations or connections. Indoor or outdoor, both are on the table. If you know a spot in Lancaster County with an open floor plan, decent parking, and the right vibe for a booth-style event, reply to this email.

2. Would you or a kid you know want to run a table? Reply to this email and tell us.
