New Holland is a borough in Lancaster County. John Diffenderfer settled nearby in 1728, and in 1750 his son Michael laid out a town called New Design along the ridge that Route 23 follows today. Abe Zimmerman opened a machine repair shop here in 1899 that grew into New Holland Machine Works, now Case New Holland, and the town still holds the New Holland Farmers Fair every October, as it has since 1927.
